چکیده

A multitude of autogenous/allogeneic and semi-synthetic bone graft materials have been developed to reconstruct the defective tissue but with high bio-cost potential environmental pollution. With calcium content several trace elements, chicken eggshells are no longer considered as wastes attractive sources high-value-added biomaterials. This study used synthetic hydroxyapatite (HAp) synthesize amorphous phosphate (ACP) materials, namely Control Eggshell. The physiochemical characteristics, biosafety, immunocompatibility ACP particles were inspected. Their osteogenic activity was further investigated in a novel osteoblastic spheroids model. Eggshell exhibited ideal cytocompatibility compared control more resistant re-crystallization. In spheroids, mediated typical mRNA profiles MC-3T3-E1 cells, accompanied by increased formation mineralized nodules boosted synthesis ECM proteins represented OPN collagen I. establishes promising technique stable, safe, osteoinductive from eggshell waste. Furthermore, constructed present provide practical model for biomaterial research, which reflect three-dimensional interaction between host realistically.

Study on Synthesis and Characterization of Unsaturated Poly (ester-amide) as Bone Fixation Materials

A new type of unsaturated poly ester-amide was prepared by melt polycondensation and characterized completely. Influence of heat treatment conditions and cross-linking content on mechanical and degradation properties of unsaturated polyester-amide were studied. Results suggested that the newly synthesized unsaturated poly(ester-amide) possessed good heat stabilization properties. Mechanical...

Critical Size Bone Defect Healing Using Collagen–Calcium Phosphate Bone Graft Materials

The need for bone graft materials to fill bony voids or gaps that are not related to the intrinsic stability of the bone that arise due to trauma, tumors or osteolysis remains a clinically relevant and significant issue. The in vivo response of collagen-tricalcium phosphate bone graft substitutes was evaluated in a critical size cancellous defect model in skeletally mature rabbits. While the ma...

The Effect of Bisphasic Calcium Phosphate Block Bone Graft Materials with Polysaccharides on Bone Regeneration

In this study, bisphasic calcium phosphate (BCP) and two types of polysaccharide, carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) and hyaluronic acid (HyA), were used to fabricate composite block bone grafts, and their physical and biological features and performances were compared and evaluated in vitro and in vivo. Specimens of the following were prepared as 6 mm diameter, 2 mm thick discs; BPC mixed with CMC ...

Histologic and histomorphometric assessment of eggshell-derived bone graft substitutes on bone healing in rats

OBJECTIVE The objective of this study was to histologically and histomorphometrically evaluate the efficacy of the new formulations of eggshell-derived calcium carbonate in rats. STUDY DESIGN The study was conducted on 30 adult male rats. Four standardized and circular intrabony defects were created in the both maxilla and mandibula of each animal. Three different graft materials were prepare...
